Yandex’s self-driving cars run 7,000 km in Las Vegas streets

MOSCOW, Jan 14 (PRIME) -- Self-driving cars of Russian Internet company Yandex have run more than 7,000 kilometers in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show, which took place on January 7–10, the company said on Tuesday in a statement.

“The total distance run by the cars during preparation for the event and six days of the show exceeded 7,000 kilometers. The cars moved along the city’s streets in an automated mode without a test engineer behind the wheel. During the six days of the show, more than 100 guests were carried by the cars,” Yandex said.

The company is now getting ready for the next event, the North American International Auto Show, which will take place in Detroit on June 7–20.
